Inspired by Mothers
For years, God has graciously allowed me to serve and nurture young women in the Freely in Hope community. For this reason, I have always considered myself a mother. But recently, the meaning to this term took a completely new dimension—God allowed me the privilege to participate in his work of creation. Literally!
Eight months ago, I gave birth to a baby girl. She keeps my heart beating—the look in her eyes becomes the will to fight for her no matter what. She is the candle that forever glows in a my heart—my inspiration.
In the same way, we at Freely in Hope are inspired by the lives of mothers, especially the young mothers in our scholarship program. Though they have been forced into motherhood through sexual violence, they have chosen to give life to their children. These mothers have moved heaven and earth to provide for their families and they set courageous examples for their children by seeking an education.
As a new mother, I have learned that motherhood is a journey you cannot take alone—we need each other to raise up our children to lead with hope. When you give to Freely in Hope, you are giving hope to a mother. Donate in honor of your mother by May 6, and we’ll send her a beautifully handcrafted card.
Happy Mother’s day to all the mother’s of the world who give us hope.
